Personal Interest
Hospice of the Piedmont is a not-for-profit provider of palliative (comfort) care and support services for patients, their families and caregivers, mainly in the home. Patients ranging in age from infants to the elderly who are facing a terminal illness are given specialized medical, emotional, and spiritual care.
Hospice of the Piedmont serves portions of four central North Carolina counties—Guilford, Forsyth, Randolph, and Davidson—from our office in High Point. Since our founding in 1981, nearly 4,000 patients have been cared for by our team of professionals and volunteers.
Hospice care neither hastens nor postpones death, but is designed to help individuals make the most of life’s remaining moments and give comfort. In addition, we provide grief support to families and others in the community who have experienced a loss.
Hospice of the Piedmont is licensed by Medicare and Medicaid, and services are also covered by most private insurance carriers. We are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, Inc., and are members of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, National Home Care Association, the Carolinas Center for End of Life Care, and the United Way of Greater High Point.
