Mr. Winfred Belo, age 93, of High Point, NC, passed away Saturday morning, June 28th, 2025, at his
residence in Randleman, NC. He was born on November 7th, 1931, in Randolph County, a son of the late
John Edward and Flora Etta Belo. Winfred was an Army veteran and served in the United States Army
from October 1952 to September 1954. Mr. Belo loved watching his Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta
Braves.
Winfred was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna Belo, three brothers; Rossie Ray Belo, Thomas
Edward Belo and William Carnell Belo; seven sisters; Nina Pearl Belo Coltrane, Bessie Mae Belo Green,
Annie Ruth Belo Clinton, Ophelia Lee Belo Parker, Pauline Hannie Belo, Dovie Etta Belo Rush and
Helen Juanita Belo Jones; one daughter Ramona Belo; one son Anthony Curtis; and a special partner, Ms.
Ann McGill.
He is survived by one sister, Hilda Belo Rector (Winston-Salem); three daughters, Rhonda Sawyer (High
Point), Clintona Belo (Texas) and Anissa Byrd (High Point); three sons, Maricheal Belo (Randleman),
Jerome Gholston (High Point) and Lamont McGill (High Point); 19 grandchildren; Tracie Anderson
(Trevor), Anitra McKnight (Travis), Larry Harris Jr (Shadonna), Nakisha Harris, Corey Harris, Rhondra
Willis (Steven), Darrell Sawyer (Alayna), Cortney Gaines, Antonn Dumas, Celeste Blockem, Jason
Blockem, Morgan McGill, Tamica Belo, Shamica Belo, Devon Belo, Anthony Belo, Moe Belo, Amari
Belo and Amir Belo, and a special friend, Ms. Christina Jackson. He also leaves to cherish a host of
great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will sadly miss
him.
The family would like to give special thanks to Ms. Shay Norman and Mr. Douglas Merwin and great-
niece Cassandra Belo.
A Funeral service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, July 12th, 2025, at Living Water Baptist Church with Pastor
Jimmy Sweet officiating. The family will receive visitors and friends from 12:30 to 1pm at the church. Burial will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
