Williams Kearns Obituary

William Thomas Kearns, 98, transitioned on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at WFBH Winston-Salem.  William was born in Randolph County to Ernest and Louise H. Kearns on June 15, 1921.

Deacon Kearns was a dedicated and active church member who was also a Male Chorus member.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army.  He loved his community and loved serving people.  He enjoyed yard work, fishing, and after being employed with Thomasville Furniture, he also operated a cleaning business for many years. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa K. Kearns; daughter, Anita Kearns; sons, Aaron Kearns and Ausbey Kearns.

He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Murphy; son, Patrick Kearns, four grandchildren; brothers, James and Rickey; sisters, Margaret, Sadie, and Capeltola; a host of other relatives and beloved friends.

A Homegoing Service will be given at 12 noon, on Friday, November 29, 2019 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 204 Turner St., Thomasville, NC.  The family will receive visitors and friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon at the church on Friday. November 27 at Johnson & Sons. Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. Public viewing will be Wednesday, November 27 from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Johnson and Sons is honored to assist the family.
