William Sylvester Mills, Sr

Mr. William Sylvester Mills, Sr. “Snook” passed away at his residence on January 15, 2021.  He was born in Lexington, North Carolina to Charlie Mills and Gracie McCain Mills on September 6, 1933.

Snook was a graduate of William Penn High School and bravely served in the U.S. Army.  He was a member of First Emmanuel Baptist Church and loved by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents William was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Mills “Lib”; sons, William Mills, Jr. and Ronnie Mills;  three brothers, Charles, Robert, and Richard Mills.

Snook is survived by one son, Keith Snuggs; daughters, Carla Smoot (Larry), and Bridget Thompson; daughters-in-law, Carol Mills and Gwendolyn Mills; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Neecy Barnes; brothers, Herbert Parks, Hobert Mills “Bo”; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A private graveside service will take place on Saturday, January 23rd, at Floral Garden Memorial Park.  You may visit the family at 407 Lassiter Dr., High Point.
