William Sylvester Mills, Jr., 65, died November 20, 2019 at High Point Medical Center. William was born on April 26, 1954 in High Point, NC to William Sylvester Mills, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Washington Mills. He was a 1971 graduate of TW Andrews High School and attended Elizabeth City State University graduating with the class of 1977 with his B.S in Business Administration. During College is where he met the Love of his life, Carol Ann Vinson.  After college William crossed over and joined the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity proudly in 1987. He was a faithful member of First Emmanuel Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee and Deacon.  He also was a dedicated member of the N.C. Jaycees (Service to Humanity is the best work of life). He retired from N.C. A&T State University.
 

William was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Mills and brother, Ronald Mills.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Carol V. Mills; son, Endris Mills; daughter, Erica Mills-Gannaway (Kevin); father, William S. Mills, Sr.; grandchildren, Anijia, Emonie, Jamie, Kaleeyah, Jocelyn, and Joshua; someone special who was like a son, Davarus Southern (LeBarbara); a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other dear relatives and friends.

 

A Celebration of Life will be 12 noon, Saturday, November 30th at First Emmanuel Baptist Church, 833 Leonard Ave.  The family will receive visitors from 11:30 am to 12 noon at the church. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park.
