Wanda Faye (Johnson) Blackwell

Ms. Wanda Faye Johnson Blackwell departed this life on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.  Born on July 5, 1961, in Caswell County, North Carolina to the late Mattie Sherron Johnson, she attended the local public schools and received a Master's Degree in Theology. 

She was formerly employed by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety and Corning Glass. Loved and adored by all who knew her, Wanda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, going to church, shopping, gardening and eating out.  As a vibrant and energetic person, she was very direct and never hesitated in expressing her opinion. One of her favorite sayings was, "I'm going to tell you like it is, you won't send me to hell". 

 Survivors are beloved son, Dishan Hairston (Ebony); stepchildren, Lauren B. Mc Kiver (Mark), Traci Blackwell and Geoff Blackwell (Zara); grandchildren, Iya, Ishod, Reign and Zashan; siblings, Thomas Johnson (Olivia) and Vanessa Staples; niece, Tomisha Johnson; nephews, Derrick Holmes, Shannon Holmes and Chris Holmes; other relatives and friends. 

 Memorial services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2022, from the Cornerstone Christian Center, 516 North Scales Street, Reidsville.  In every effort to protect our client families, protective facial coverings and social distancing are mandatory requirements.  Funeral arrangements are by Johnson & Sons of High Point.
