Torie Makeau Harshaw was born March 11, 1972, to the late Donald Leallison Harshaw and Lenette Gaines Harshaw. He made his transition to his Heavenly home on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the family home.
Torie Harshaw received his education at Randleman High School, graduating in 1990. Torie was a three-year starter for the Randleman Tiger Football team, serving as a Tri-Captain during his senior year. He attended and played football at Garden City Community College in Kansas before transferring to Winston Salem-State University to play football. Torie was an avid fan of football and basketball. He was a fan of the Carolina Panthers, Duke Basketball, and UNC basketball (which he served as peacemaker for the fans of both teams in the family). He enjoyed time with family and friends while watching football and basketball.
He was a faithful member of Ferree’s Chapel United Methodist Church where he was a dedicated Sunday School attendee, a member of the usher board, coordinator of the senior missionaries, and a member of United Methodist Men.
He was preceded in death by his father Donald Leallison Harshaw, and Lenette Gaines Harshaw.
Left to mourn his loss but cherish his precious memories are two brothers, Donald F. Harshaw of Thomasville and O. Payton Harshaw (T.K.) of Cary NC; one sister, Kimiki Harshaw Williams (Kenneth), of Virginia Beach; one nephew, Kenneth Williams, II (Norfolk Va.), one grand-niece Kaliah French of Norfolk, VA; four aunts, Blanche Peguese, Susie Lovelace, of High Point, NC, Margie Legrand of Mt. Gilead, and Alberta Corpening (Floyd) of Morganton; five uncles, Herbert Gaines (Geneva), Burlee Gaines of Mt. Gilead, NC, Larry Spencer (Marlene) of Clover, SC, Raymond Craig (Patricia) of Stoneville, NC, Amos Spencer of Chester, PA, and a host of cousins and friends.
A service celebrating the life of Torie Harshaw will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Ferree's Chapel United Methodist Church, 642 S. Stout St., Randleman, North Carolina. The family will receive visitors and friends at the church from 12 noon to 12:30pm. The funeral service will began at 12:30pm. The burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park Cemetery.
