On November 26, 2023, Thomas Willard Belo transitioned from this life to eternal rest. He was born on May 10, 1945, in Randolph County, to the now late Thomas Edward and Viola Green Belo. He was the fifth born among six children; all of whom preceded him in death.
After completing his studies at William Penn High School, Thomas enlisted in the United States Army. There, he served a tour in Vietnam, serving his country bravely and honorably. Thomas was an avid sports fan! He especially loved football and the Washington Commanders. He also loved his family, animals, a good joke and a hearty laugh. Thomas was a lifelong member of Bethel-Glenola United Methodist Church. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to mourn his loss are four sisters-in-law, four nieces, four nephews, two aunts, one uncle, and a host of relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Lung Association.
A Service of Remembrance will take place on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery, located at 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC.
