The journey began in Wadesboro, North Carolina when Taylor was born on July 7, 1947.
Taylor was educated in the Anson County Public Schools and he was a graduate of Morven McRae High School, class of 1966. He was employed at TFI Furniture Company for 30 years before retirement.
Taylor Pegues, Sr., became affiliated with St. Stephen AME Zion Church under the leadership of Rev. Reginald Maurice Keitt. Taylor loved the Lord and knew that He was the source of his life. His favorite song was “Never would have made it” by Marvin Sapp.
Taylor Sr. was a special person who lived a life of integrity. He was very thoughtful, caring and firm. However, he possessed the strength of gentleness. He loved his wife and children, his siblings, and adored his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He had a deep respect for family and friends and touched the lives of many with the gift of kindness and an abundance of love.
On March 8, 2022, Taylor Sr., journey ended as he reached his destination. He took down his tent, as the gentle touch of the Master’s hand summoned him from labor to an eternal life of joy. His demise has left a tremendous void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
