Spencer William (Bill) Dye

Spencer William (Bill) Dye passed away on Thursday morning, June 12, 2025. He was born on January 16, 1953. he was one of five children of the late Dewey L. and Lucille J. Dye.

He graduated from Lucy C. Ragsdale High School and dedicated over 30 years of his career to Duke Energy (formerly Duke Power). After retiring from Duke Energy, he took on the role of Security Captain at Thomas Built Buses until he fully retired.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Rosalind Cooke Dye, his parents, Dewey and Lucille Dye, and his sister, Sylvia (Tib) Dye Rogers.

Spencer is survived by his daughter, Pamela (Raheim) Jones, with whom he lived with since the passing of his wife. He is also survived by his siblings, Bobby (Leona) Dye, Sonja (Rev. Reuben) Boyd, and Sheila Dye. Additionally, he leaves behind brothers-in-law, Warren (Yvonne) Cooke and Peter (Carla) Cooke; sisters-in-law, Byrdene C. Franklin and Delores C. Sudderth, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
