Shirley Mae Sydnor King of Reidsville, North Carolina was called to rest on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Annie Penn Hospital. She was born on June 3, 1942 in Pelham, North Carolina to the now late, Joseph A. Sydnor and Loveline McCullough Sydnor.
She was a domestic worker who loved to garden, take care of her family and neighbors, puzzles books, and day stories. She joined Gwynn's Chapel Baptist Church at an early age and her favorite phrase was, "I'm fine."
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Sydnor and Albert Sydnor; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Reid Sydnor and her 30 plus years companion, Paul Ziglar.
She leaves to cherish loving memories, a son, Earl A. King; a daughter, Christine King of the residence; three sisters, Queen Cobbs of Danville, Virginia, Gloria Haper (Allen) of Baltimore, Maryland, Ernestine Tillman of Danville, Virginia, a sister-in-law, Geraldine Sydnor of Baltimore, Maryland; three nieces, six nephews, a host of great nephews and nieces, cousins and a very special friend and caregiver, Felicia Cobbs.
