Shawn Roseboro Obituary

Shawn Anthony Roseboro went home to be with the Lord on January 4, 2020. He was born on March 19, 1974, to Johnnie and Cassandra Roseboro.

Growing up, he attended Guilford County schools. He graduated from T.W. Andrews High School in 1993, where he was well known for his athletic ability. This talent allowed him the opportunity to play football in college at Fresno State University.

Shawn decided as a young man to follow in the footsteps of his father and got into transportation. He had a career that spanned over twenty-five years. He spent several years in the furniture moving industry. In addition, he gained experience with reefer units, flat beds, dump trucks and most recently charter buses. He was known to say “I can drive anything with wheels and some things without!” He frequently used his knowledge and experience to help a friend or co-worker with directions, or a quick fix when it came to their trucks.

Brother, son, cousin, friend, co-worker, partner, coach, Shawn was a lot of things to a lot of different people. The title that he most enjoyed was dad. His choices were consistently based on what could be done, so he could build “a legacy”, as he put it, for his children. He was known to be tough with them at times, because he knew their full potential and wanted them to live up to it. The majority of the time, he was laughing and cracking jokes. Shawn’s favorite place to be was with his family. From large family gatherings to simple dinners and game nights, they all were something special.

To know Shawn, was to know that he was a man who gave his opinion and love generously. In addition, there was something that drew you to him, and you knew that if you were around him that things always seemed to have a way of working out.

His parents have since passed on, but he leaves a lot of people to cherish memories of him. A grandmother, Ruth Hinton (Greensboro). His love of sixteen years, Deanntre’ Brown (High Point), two brothers, Brian Roseboro (High Point) Steven Roseboro (High Point) . Friend/brother for 25 years Reggie Ingram (Winston-Salem) Three sisters, Stephanie Cathey (Greensboro), Christal Cathey (Greensboro), and Brianna Brown (High Point). Two daughters, Raven Duff (High Point) and Sydney Roseboro (High Point). Three sons, Christopher Roseboro (High Point), Anthony Roseboro (High Point), Joshua Roseboro (High Point) Four grandchildren, Makiya Duff, Harmony Harris, Austin Craddock, and A’yonna Roseboro; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
