Rufus Chandler

Mr. Rufus Chandler transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday following an extended illness.  Rufus was born on September 21, 1949 to Willie Chandler and Ruth Sturdivant Chandler in Anson County, North Carolina.  He was a High Point residence for most of his adult life and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Chandler and a brother, Willie Chandler, Jr.

Surviving relatives include brothers, Booker T. Chandler, Otis Chandler (Ruby), Johnny Chandler (Phyllis) all of High Point, and Mart Chandler (Eugenia) of Mebane, N. C.; sisters Ozella C. Blue and Linda C. Brown (James) of High Point.

A Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Chapel of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, 206 Fourth Street.  The family will receive visitors and friends at 12 noon preceding the service.
