Reidsville – Reverend Roger Burnell Pinnix transitioned from his earth to receive his “Heavenly Reward” on Sunday evening, July 14, 2024.
As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina, he attended the local public schools and was a graduate of Reidsville Senior High School, Class of 1974. He pursued further education at Rockingham Community College, majoring in Theology. Being an industrious person, Rev. Pinnix engaged in many paths of vocation. He was formerly employed by the Rockingham County School System, operated Pinnix Cleaning Service and was presently employed by Clean Harbor Corporation.
At an early age in life, he professed hope in Jesus Christ as his Saviour, and was baptized into the fellowship of Rocky Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. P. J. Woods. As an active member, his spiritual walk began with the Lord. Rev. Pinnix was loyal and supportive in various areas of the church program. He formerly served as an Usher, Sunday School Teacher, member of the Trustee Ministry, Deacon Ministry and assisted with the upkeep of the church. As a faithful and diligent servant to God, Rev. Pinnix was called to preach God’s Word in 1992. Psalms 37:23 states, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delighteth in his way.” March 21, 1993, his first public message was at his home church, under the leadership of Overseer B. Stephon Brown. Following the years of his initial sermon, with his following the steps ordered by God, he served as Youth Minister, and Taught New Member’s class. In April of 1997, Rev. Pinnix was elected as Interim Pastor of his home church, Rocky Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. And, in November 1997, he was installed as Senior Pastor of Rocky Ridge Missionary Baptist. He served in this capacity for five plus years. In 2000, Rev. Pinnix founded and continued his ministry at Agape Fellowship Baptist Church in Eden. He dedicated his life to the Kingdom, and he strived to please the Lord in every way he could. Sixty-eight years of a life well-lived, well-served, well-loved and well-done! We thank God for his Christian life and admirable traits.
