Ray Antoinette “Ray Ann” Rowland was born on December 7, 1967, to Charles Ray Rowland and Patricia P. Rowland Edwards. She departed her earthly home peacefully amongst her family in Atlanta, Georgia on December 17, 2023.
Ray grew up in High Point and was spiritually raised at Congregational United Church of God. Later she attended High Point Deliverance in Jamestown, NC. Ray Ann attended night classes to complete the Enhance Quality of Life Program at Guilford Technical Community College. She also obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant License. She worked for many years as a Personal Care Aide with Family First Home Care where she loved caring for and servicing others. Ray Ann also worked as a Customer Services Representative at High Point University where the students and staff adored her fun and loving personality. Those that knew Ray know that she cared for everyone including strangers. She selfishly shared her heart with everyone and never really met a stranger.
Ray Antoinette leaves behind her mother, Patricia P. Rowland Edwards; daughter, Monique Hunter of Georgia and son, Nolan Z. Rowland of NC; Special Bonus Daughter, Niyia Brewington of NJ; grandchildren, Carlieto Hubbard Jr., Araya C. Hubbard, Arielle Hunter, Za’Nyiah Cheyenne Rowland, Masiah N. Leak, and Nolan Z. Corley; her loving sister and best friend, Caroline Destiny White of Georgia; two cousins who were like siblings, Bobby Singleton, and Gloria McCollough; two special nieces who were also like daughters, Nicole Pickenpack-Cousar (Shamaine) and Ashley Pickenpack; nephew, Eric McCoy; great nephews and nieces, Samuel Hunter, Christian Cousar, and Amaya Scott. A Special friend, Frank Watson; Goddaughter, Nicole Williams-Lockett.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1pm Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Turner’s Chapel AME Zion Church, 7615 Florence School Drive, High Point. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1pm at the church.
