Pearline Monk Obituary

Mrs. Pearline Gripper Monk entered eternal rest on Thursday evening, November 19, 2020 at Green Valley Medical Center, Greensboro, North Carolina.

Mrs. Monk was born in High Point, NC to the late Johnnie and Hallie Gripper on December 8, 1930. She was a graduate of William Penn High School and West Virginia State University. Mrs. Monk was a resident of High Point, NC except for a brief residency in Hartford, Connecticut as an educator. At retirement from the Guilford County School System, she provided daily care for her elderly parents.

Her lifelong membership was sustained at Temple Memorial Baptist Church until her declining health would not allow her to attend. Additionally, she was a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Preceding her in death were her husband, George Monk; parents, brothers, Orlando C. Gripper and Donald Ray Gripper, and sister, Mrs. Shirley G. Linton.

Surviving relatives who shall forever cherish her memory include: two brothers, Lenon L. Gripper (Miriam) of Lancaster, California and Johnny L. Gripper of Greensboro, NC; devoted in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A private graveside service will take place on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown.  Public viewing will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 24th, from 12 noon to 5 p.m..     Live streaming of services will be offered at link https://www.facebook.com/Johnsonandsonshplivestream-101153881842644
