Paul Robinson Obituary

Paul Micah Robinson was born in High Point, NC, on October 12, 1976, to the late Douglas “Johnny” Robinson and Dennie Reid Robinson.

Paul was a very adventurous and curious child, even in his toddler years. His siblings and mother often ran around asking neighbors, “Have you seen Paul?” With no formal training, Paul loved to take off on his big brother Stevie’s Boss skateboard with kryptonic wheels and cruise up and down the neighborhood streets. Paul had a fearless spirit from childhood to adulthood.

Paul accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized, and became a member of Mt Vernon Baptist church.

Paul graduated from T Wingate Andrews High School in High Point in 1994. Paul’s magnetic and charming personality was contagious, and he met no stranger wherever he went. Paul was a super funny guy and kept his friends and family laughing and smiling with his jokes and fun. Paul was a gentle man, had a very kind and generous spirit, and was always willing to help someone in need.

Paul met the love of his life, Avis Lloyd, in 2000. After a long courtship, Paul and Avis married in 2013. While Paul worked in various industrial capacities over the years, he eventually found his groove in trucking. In 2016, Paul graduated from trucking school at Old Dominion Freight Line in Greensboro, NC, earning his commercial driver’s license. As part of the fleet Paul was thrilled and beamed when he hopped into his big rig headed on long-distance trips. Paul’s wife and family were so proud of him for his incredible accomplishment! Paul enjoyed success at Old Dominion until he was sidelined due to health challenges in 2022.

Paul absolutely loved water. He mastered swimming in both the ocean and pool…and most recently passed on the gift of navigating the water by teaching his step-granddaughter Khloe how to swim.

Paul was preceded in death by his brother, John Robinson, sister-in-law Janet Staton, and sister, Sandra Robinson Weathers.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Avis Robinson, of the home; three stepchildren, Ashley (Jesus) Yapid of Killeen, TX; Anthony Lloyd and Alan Lloyd; five step-grandchildren; siblings, Armond Staton, Frankie Staton of Nashville, TN; Stephen Robinson (Avis), Jeané Robinson of Charleston, SC; Demetrice Graham (David), one incredibly special brother-in-law who was like a brother, Brian Weathers, and two very special nieces, Aprielle (Penny) McClean (Larry), of Winston-Salem, NC, and Joy Staton, three nephews, five great-nieces and nine great nephews and a host of loving cousins and many, very dear friends.

Paul will truly be missed, but his sweet, loving spirit will live on through friends and family. Farewell, Dear Paul…gone…but always close in our hearts.
