Mrs. Odelle Marie Ramseur Crone, 90, went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2020. She was born in High Point, North Carolina on July 20, 1930 to Otho Ramseur, Sr., and Patsy Ramseur.
After graduating from William Penn High School, she met and married the love of her life, William Franklin Crone. She became a homemaker and to this union five children were born. Courageously, at age thirty-five, she attended Guilford County Community Junior College where she received her accounting license. She later obtained a job at Ballenger's Clothing Store as manager and accountant where she was employed for over ten years.
Odelle was an active member and great supporter of St. Paul United Church of God where she sang in the choir and served on the hospitality committee. She became well known for her delicious pound cakes, chocolate cakes and pineapple upside down cakes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, Otho Ramseur Jr., Charles Ramseur, Omega Ramseur and Alfa Ramseur; and a grandchild, Carlos Manning.
She leaves to cherish precious memories, her loving husband, Wiiliam Franklin Crone; her sons, Dennis Crone and William Crone, Jr.; daughters, Patricia Smith, Rhonda Johnson, and Shelley Jackson; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Moore and Patricia Johnson all of High Point, a sister, Nancy Stancil; a special nephew, Andre’ Ramseur; grandchildren, Tricia, Michelle, Tonya, Jamie, Travis, Eric Jr., Ariana, Kobe, Marcie, Nina, Bernard Jr., Melissa, Mindrell, and Willena Miller; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
A private Celebration of Life will be given on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the Chapel of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, 206 Fourth Street, High Point. Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown.
