Nannie Lee Capel, 97, peacefully entered her eternal rest in the bosom of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Wake Forest Medical Center in High Point, NC.
Nannie Lee was born February 24, 1924, she was the first born to Ben C. and Mary Clapp Vaughn in Elon, NC. She was a resident of High Point, NC most of her life. She was a faithful member of Memorial United Methodist Church, a church she loved. She was an active member who attended Sunday Services, Sunday School, and was a member of the United Methodist Women Group #1 until her declining health. She was employed at Mr. Apparel and later retired from W.J. Rives. Her favorite pastimes were fashion, shopping, cooking, looking at Lifetime but more importantly spending her daily dedicated time with her Lord.
Nannie Lee Capel was the Matrich of the Vaughn family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Garnell C. Capel; son, Henry Moffitt; daughter, Catherine M. Brockman; grandson, Andre Brockman; and sisters, Mary Hopkins, Alfreda Medley and Betty Littlejohn.
A Graveside Celebration will take place at 10:30am, Friday, March 26, 2021 at Carolina Biblical Gardens, 5710 Riverdale Rd., Jamestown, NC.
She leaves to cherish memories of her, a loving son and caregiver, Jarvis “Glenn” Capel; six grands, Dwight Davis, Deborah Isaac (Ronald), Bryant Brockman (Lisa), Renita Brockman, Jarvis Simmons (Vanessa), Jazmyne Capel; eight great grands; nine great- great grands; one Son-in-law, Howard Brockman; an adopted son, Kenneth “Butch” Henry; a devoted and lifelong friend, Mrs. Arletha Hill and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
