Matthew Christopher Jones, 40, of Greensboro transitioned on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Matthew was born on July 15, 1979 in Guilford County and was a Northeast High School graduate where he was a member of the ROTC. He was also a graduate of NCA&T State University. Matthew’s hands were blessed with a career to help give sight to the blind as a ophthalmic technician. He played paintball professionally, loved to fish, cook and spending time with family and friends. He was loved by lot of people and will be sorely missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry F. Jones; brothers, Jerry, Jamie, and Johnnie Jones; sisters, Laura Jones, and Katie Chavis; two nephews, one niece and one great niece.
Left to cherish fond memories include his loving wife, Alicia Neal-Jones; a daughter, Madison Jones; sons, Dallas Wilson, Trevon Neal, and Maddox Jones; mother, Carrie Foote Jones; brothers, David Jones, Bradley Jones (Tenika), and Gary Jones; sister, Carole Jones Dawson (James); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and special friends.
A Celebration of Life will take place privately. His remains will be viewed from 5 to 7pm on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home, 906 E. Market St., Greensboro, North Carolina.
