Mary Ruth (Davis) Jones

Mary Ruth Jones transitioned to glory on Wednesday, April 7th 2021 at the Genesis Meridian Center.  Mary was born on May 29,1944 to Mrs. Bessie Bristow Davis and Mr. John Burnice Davis in Hamlet, North Carolina.

Mary attended East Hamlet Elementary School and graduated from Monroe Avenue High School in 1963.

Mary married James L. Jones and relocated to High Point, NC in 1963.  Mary and James had three girls, Percefie, Cathy and Paris Jones.  

Mary attended First Emmanuel Baptist Church and retired from Rice Hosiery Corp. as an inspector.  Her favorite hobbies included cooking, gardening and sewing.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Mrs. Bessie Bristow Davis, Mr. John Burnice Davis; sisters, Mildred Green, and Betty Davis; and a brother, Henry Davis.

Left to cherish her memories are three daughters, Percefie M. Jones of Tampa, FL (Patrick & Jazmine), Cathy L. Jones of High Point, NC (Erica & Michelle), Paris L. Jones of High Point, NC (Brittany, Tavist, LaChrista, Dallas); two sisters, Bessie Potts (Walter) of Rockingham, NC, and Flossie Davis of Fayetteville, NC; three brothers, Willie Davis and John Davis of Hamlet, NC, and Randy Davis of Millville, NJ; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be given on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Guil-Rand Memorial Park Cemetery, 1550 NC HWY 62W at 1pm in the afternoon.

The public viewing will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m.
