On Sunday morning, May 1, 2022, Marvin Edward Clark, departed this earthly life to live in eternal bliss with the Lord. Born on June 14, 1946, he was the son of the late Alice Olivia Hampton and Marvin Clark, Sr.
He married the love of his life, Janie, on January 15th, 1966 and was happily married for 56 years.
As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County NC, he attended public schools and worked for Fieldcrest Cannon 31 years and then the North Carolina Department of Transportation for 15 years before retirement. Marvin accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Chapel Hill Progressive Primitive Baptist Church. He was an active member and served on the usher and trustee boards.
Marvin was a dedicated husband and father, an excellent provider for his family and valuable member of this community. His work ethic never allowed anyone he loved to carry a burden he could lessen. Despite his tough exterior, Marvin had a heart of gold and kept everyone laughing with his quick wit and humor. He brought delight to all who had the pleasure to meet and know him. His favorite hobbies were racing cars and hog farming.
Marvin warmed so many lives in his community and his presence will be sorely missed.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Clark and Sherman Clark and a sister, Betty Jean Lawson, seven brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.
Left to cherish his legacy are his wife, Janie; daughter, Debra Clark; grandchildren, Sheena (Tye) Beach and Ta’Ron Clark; great-grandaughter Cadence Olivia Beach; four sisters, Geraldine Millner, Patricia Johnson, Marilyn Neal and Mary Diane Wilson; one brother, Ronnie Clark (Darlene); two half-brothers, Chris and Sean Clark; sisters in law, Emma Jean Harris, Pauline Carter, Delores (Louis) Noble; special nieces Cynthia Rosser and Felicia Rosser and nephew Jimmy Lee Rosser; and special-great-nephew London Brown and a host of family, nieces and nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Noon Saturday, May 7, 2022 from the Chapel Hill Progressive Primitive Baptist Church, 3360 Guerrant Springs Road, Ruffin with Elder John W. France presiding. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:30 until 12:00 p.m. at the church.
