Mae Booth Obituary

Reidsville - Mae Denise Bass Booth passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024.

Mae Denise Bass Booth, known affectionately as Necie or Mom, left this world on September 20, 2024. She was born in Reidsville, North Carolina on May 5, 1955 to her beloved parents Dr. and Mrs. I.K. Bass.

Denise's life was one of love and service to others. From a young age, she displayed an unwavering kindness and selflessness that endeared her to all who knew her. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore the world around her with boundless curiosity and compassion.

After graduating from NC A&T State University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Theatre Arts, Denise continued her education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she earned a Master of Education with a major in speech pathology and audiology four years later.

For thirty years, Denise dedicated herself as a speech-language pathologist at South End Elementary School where she found immeasurable joy in serving her students. She worked at other educational and medical facilities as well, tirelessly helping students and patients alike. Her commitment to helping others communicate better enriched countless lives throughout her career.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Denise found happiness through sharing love and fellowship within various communities. Whether teaching aerobics at the YMCA well into her 60s or worshiping alongside fellow congregants at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, she radiated warmth wherever she went.

But above all else, Denise cherished being a mother figure not only to her own children but also to the many young hearts she nurtured through both work and personal connections. Her capacity for maternal love knew no bounds; it was evident in every aspect of her life.

She leaves behind cherished memories for those who loved her most: children whom she adored deeply; grandchildren whose laughter brought light into each day; brothers who shared childhood adventures; sisters whose bond remained unbreakable; cousins who held treasured moments close; extended family members whose lives were touched by hers; friends who felt like family; church community that embraced her wholeheartedly; colleagues who admired her both professionally and personally.

As we mourn our loss today, we find solace knowing that Denise is now reunited with those whom she loved dearly - including her parents Dr. & Mrs. I.K.Bass- watching over us from heaven above until we meet again someday.
"But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again."
