Luvenia McRae Obituary

Luvenia Johnson McRae, affectionately known as Aunt Bea, peacefully transitioned to her Heavenly Home on October 2, 2023, at her residence in High Point, N.C., at the remarkable age of 99. She was born on February 10, 1924, in Chesterfield County, South Carolina, to the now late Charlie Johnson and Mary Crawford-Johnson.

Aunt Bea was a cherished member of the community and an active member of Temple Memorial Baptist Church until her health declined. Luvenia was a woman of unwavering faith and the beloved wife of James McRae. She was the middle and final child of her parents. Leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.

Luvenia McRae will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Let us remember the lessons she imparted: to walk with humility, to embrace gratitude, and to hold deep respect for the intricate tapestry of life. Her warm presence and kind heart will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul rest in eternal peace; and may her spirit guide us towards a life of compassion and love for all.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: a special niece, Ms. Betty Jean Johnson, who resided with her; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Annie Ruth Jeffry and Mrs. Barbara Ann Johnson both residing in South Carolina and Mrs. Martha Williams of High Point, NC. Additionally, memories of Luvinea will be forever treasured by numerous nieces and nephews, which extended her legacy as “Aunt Bea” to five generations of nieces and nephews.
