Linda Hemphill Obituary

Mrs. Linda Carol Culbreth Hemphill was awarded her heavenly wings on Thursday, December 23rd at her residence.

Linda was born on November 23, 1956, in Jersey City, New Jersey to Mattie Culbreth.  She was the second of 8 siblings.  Her grandparents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister preceded her in death.

Linda, in addition to being hardworking, was a friend to all and a wonderful mother.  She won multiple awards from her son’s various youth and little league teams for being the “Team Mom”.  Linda enjoyed completing crossword puzzles and frequenting the game rooms of the area.  She was an avid lover of classic westerns and could never get enough of Christmas movies.

She was employed by Slane Hosiery Mills for many many years.  She was a graduate of Trinity High School.

She leaves behind three sons, Gerald, Samuel, and Warren Hemphill; fifteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren; five sisters, Deborah Barber (Charles), Sandra Wheeler (Jerome), Donna Canty (David), Kimberly Gordon, Mona Garner (Charles), Lisa Wall (Larry); two daughters-in-law, Gezelle Hemphill, and Nina Hemphill; one aunt, Mae Keaton; a host of many other relatives and friends.

Linda was known for her kindness and sweetness.  The inspiring way in which she gave to anybody who needed it will never be forgotten.  The amazing spirit of this beautiful Lady will live on in all of us.

Mom,

You’re amazing. Thank you for being the greatest mom to, not only us, but to everyone. Words can't express the pain we have now. But mom we promise to live with love and compassion, just as you did. You cared for everyone, and you were always there for your boys. You were a perfect mother, now you’re a beautiful Angel.

We love you, from your boys, Samuel, Gerald and, Warren. Fly high Mommy.
