Ms. Lillian Louise Threadgill, 98, transitioned from this earthly life into eternal life on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Shannon Gray Nursing Home.
Lillian was born March 9, 1922 to the late Claude and Sallie Threadgill in Anson County, NC. She attended public schools in her hometown before moving to New York for many years of her young life. She returned to High Point, NC later in life and worked as a part of the wait staff at the Emerywood Country Club for numerous years until retirement. Lillian also was dedicated in caring for her sister during her final years as her health would permit.
Lillian was a dedicated member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church where she served faithfully with her presence, monetary gifts and service until her health began to decline. She was a member of the Christian Stewardship Club, H.W. Cobb Ladies Adult Sunday School Class, and various other areas of service.
Lillian was fondly known as “Lil” and was loved by her family and friends. She had a genuine love for others and a flair for style and she truly dressed the part.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories: one sister, Bernice T Pemberton, a special niece and caregiver Linda Pemberton; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A private Celebration of Life will be given on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Chapel of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, 206 Fourth Street.
