On early Friday, November 15, 2024, Lena Neal King, our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, and friend, passed into eternal rest. Lena was born October 6, 1950, in Rockingham County to the late James Robert and Bessie Harris Neal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Irvin King, and sister, Lula Mae Neal.
As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, she attended Booker T. Washington School. Lena had a friendly personality (Proverbs 18:24), a BIG HEART, loved P.E.O.P.L.E., and always wore a BIG SMILE. She was a former employer of Macfield/Unifi for over 30 years. In receiving and confession of her faith, she attended Rocky Ridge Missionary Baptist Church and Noah’s Ark Full Gospel Baptist Church and was a strong believer in the healing and deliverance of Jesus Christ.
Lena leaves to cherish and celebrate her memories: daughters, Margaret King Barham (David IV) of Reidsville, NC; Felicia King of Danville, VA; son, Clinton Lamont King (Crystal) of Greensboro, NC; niece, Meca’ala N. Maxey (Michael) of Greensboro, NC; eleven grandchildren, Michael A. King, Maurice Lawson, Montae’ Lawson, Marcus Lawson, Ryan Williamson, Dominique Reid, David “PJ” Barham (V), Malik Lawson, DaeShawna King, Jahlen King, and Elijah King; four great-grandchildren, Mikaya King, Mikael King, Marley Graves, Narley Graves; two great nieces, Me’Kynzi Maxey, My’Kiah Maxey; one great nephew, Ma’Khi Maxey and a host of other special relatives and friends.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Rocky Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, 1694 Highway 158 East, Reidsville, NC. The family will receive visitors and friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church, and the service will begin at 2:00 p.m.
