Laurastine Bryant

Our beloved mother entered eternal rest on March 27, 2025, in Thomasville, NC, surrounded by family and love.  Laura Bryant was born on July 2, 1931, in Thomasville, NC, to Herbert Lee Henderson and Eliza (Blair) Henderson. She embraced her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age.  Laura met Toby Bryant in New York, NY; three children were born from this union.

Laura worked as a paraprofessional in the New York City school system. Once the family moved to Thomasville, she began working as a custodian at Thomasville High School. She loved crocheting, cooking, being outside, and spending time with her family.

Laura Bryant is preceded in death by her husband, Toby Bryant, Sister Alice Henderson, and other close family members.

Laura leaves to cherish memories, her sisters, Rosealie Henderson of Baltimore, MD, and Irma Gene Reyes of Brooklyn, NY; her brother, June Henderson of High Point, NC; children, Audrey Malone of Bronx, NY, Dennis Bryant (Karen) of Thomasville, NC, and Wendy B. Sellars (Ray) of Thomasville, NC; grandchildren, Latonya and Jamilla of Bronx, NY, Khianna, Jocelin and Travis of Guilford County, NC, and Trinity of Thomasville, NC; great-granddaughters, Aamirah and Kenya; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A service celebrating the life of Laurastine H. Bryant will be given on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Brown New Calvary, 200 Doak Street, Thomasville, North Carolina.  The family will receive visitors and friends at the church from 11:30am to 12 noon.  The service will begin at 12 0'clock noon.  Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.

Public viewing at Johnson and Sons Funeral Home will be on Thursday from 1 to 6pm.
