Rev. Larry Michael Richardson, Sr. 65, entered eternal rest on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Larry was born on July 9, 1955 to the late Deacon Isaiah Richardson, Sr. and Deaconess Ida Hicks Richardson in High Point, North Carolina.

He attended Guilford County Schools and graduated from Lucy B. Ragsdale High School in 1973. After high school, he entered into Guilford Technical Community College where he graduated with a welding certification. He retired from Metal Creation Fabrication after 30 years of being a welder and was employed at First Student Incorporated.

On April 13, 1985 he married the love his life, Diana Douglas and to this union two children were born.

At an early age he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. In May of 1988 he preached his initial sermon “I Believe In Miracles.” In September of 1989, he became the pastor of Clifton Grove Baptist Church where he served for fourteen years. In March of 2003 he became the associate pastor of Dothan Praise and Worship Ministries.

Fraternally, he was a Life Member of Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity and a founding member of the Alpha Theta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega located at Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina.

In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and building furniture. He was a long time Dallas Cowboys and UNC Chapel Hill Tarheels fan.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Isaiah Richardson, Jr.

Surviving relatives include his wife of thirty-five years, Diana Richardson of the home, son, Larry (Alexis) Richardson, Jr. of Salisbury, NC; daughter, Jessica Richardson of Greensboro, NC; granddaughter, Mikayla; one brother, Steve Richardson; one sister, Jackie Hicks; one brother-in-law, Gary (Clarice) Douglas of Greensboro; and a special aunt, Alberta Walker of Durham; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A private Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.  Public viewing will be at the funeral home on Monday from 12 to 6 pm.
