Mr. Landy Edwards transitioned to his heavenly home on Friday, July 16, 2021. He was born in Bennettsville, South Carolina on April 24, 1939 to Julia McCoy Edwards.
A resident of High Point for many years, he was a faithful and devoted member of Temple Memorial Baptist Church where he sang with the Gospel and Men’s Choirs. Following many years of labor, he retired from Leggett & Platt, Inc., where he was employed as a machinist.
Landy was known for his kind and generous spirit and found joy in helping others. He treasured the time he spent with his family and friends. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing and playing the guitar. Landy cherished the times he spent going shopping with his late wife, Aunita, whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aunita Ingram Edwards; mother, Julia McCoy Edwards; stepdad, Zannie Edwards, two brothers, James Edwards, and Cecil Edwards; two sisters, Pearl Edwards and Earlene Edwards.
Left to cherish precious memories are three daughters, Phyllis Ingram Palmer, Elder Joyce “Luckey” Johnson and Renita H. Williams, all of High Point, NC; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; twenty-five great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Nellie M. Burrell and Jannie L. Workman both of Greensboro, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including close friends, Frank Dixon, Steve Walls and Deacon Thomas Foust.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, at 12:00 noon at the GuilRand Memorial Park, 1550 62 W, High Point, NC. Face covering and social distance required.
