Kurt Taylor

Mr. Kurt Taylor passed away on January 20, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.  Kurt was born in Clarendon, Jamaica and relocated to Greensboro, North Carolina to further his education at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCA&TSU). 

After graduating from NCA&TSU with a bachelor’s degree in Earth and Environmental Science and a master’s degree in Plant, Soil and Environmental Science, Kurt was employed by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension at NCA&TSU.  Kurt later achieved a second master’s degree in Agricultural Education from NCA&TSU.

Through his role as an Extension Associate with the Cooperative Extension, Kurt impacted many people across the state of North Carolina as a consultant to small farmers and as an outreach educator for youths of all ages.  Kurt articulated his personal and professional mission as “… to listen, teach and inspire people so they can improve their lives and have a positive impact on others."  In his career, Kurt enjoyed opportunities to engage in both of his areas of passion – agriculture and teaching others.

Left to cherish his loving memory are his wife, Daphne Taylor, his three children, parents, siblings, grandmother and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Kurt's celebration of life service will be held privately on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Fellowship of His Glory Ministries, Inc., 7010 Spencer Dixon Road, Greensboro, NC 27455. Public viewing will be from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at the church and on Friday, 1 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Greensboro, NC.
