Joseph Covington “Joe” was born on April 4, 1945, to the late Timothy and Frances Covington in Hamlet, North Carolina. Joseph joined the United States Army January 24, 1966. He served until August 29, 1968. During that time, he went to the Vietnam War to serve his country.
He attended Richmond High School, and later in life he moved to High Point, NC. Joe pursued an educational career with GTCC were he received certificates in 1975 and 1976 for Upholstery Trade Preparatory, Upholstery Sewing Trade Preparatory, and Upholstery Cutting Trade Preparatory.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, repairing lawn equipment, and repairing cars.
Joseph departed his life on July 8, 2020. He is preceded in death by his father, Timothy Covington; mother, Frances Covington; brother, James Covington; sister, Parthenia Taylor and son Jeffrey Covington.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Three children - Kenny Covington, Eric Covington, Jana Covington. Four Grandsons - Kenneth “Malik” Covington, Jr, Kenique Covington, Anton Covington, and one granddaughter. Two great grandson’s - Amari Covington and Jayceon Covington; brother, Stafford Covington, and sister-in-law Tina Covington of High Point, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives, and friends.
