Mrs. Johnnie Mae McNeil Thomas, 76, transitioned from this earthy life on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Hospice.

Johnnie Mae was born on July 29, 1944 in High Point, North Carolina to John Frank McNeil and Grace Young McNeil.  She was a faithful member of Cornerstone Church of Christ.  She loved the Lord and served Him as an Evangelist.  Johnnie Mae also loved being a homemaker and did it with great pride. She loved to cook and always had a clean house.  She had a giving spirit and was always a caretaker for the needy.  She also enjoyed traveling and driving her Cadillac.

In addition to her parents, John Frank McNeil and Grace Young McNeil, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Robbin Denise McNeil Rivers; and sisters, Mary A. McNeil Rorie and Catherine McNeil McManus.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her loving husband, Alfonzo Thomas; stepsons, Johnny Thomas (Stephanie)  Alfonzo Thomas, Jr. (Lisa), and James Thomas; step daughter, Virginia (Spencer); special nephew (raised as a son) William McManus (Veronica); 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brothers, John Frank, Jr. (Lucy), and Adam E. McNeil (Geraldine); sister, Pearline McNeil McManus ( James R.); special niece Robbin R. McNeil (Jimmy), a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

A private service will take place on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Chapel of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, 206 Fourth St. Public viewing is from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 22nd at the funeral home.
