Mr. Jerome Edward Wheeler, Sr. transitioned to his heavenly reward on Monday, December 21st at his residence. 

Jerome Edward Wheeler was born on August 12, 1940 in Bennettsville, South Carolina to Kathleen Williams and Jesse James Wheeler. He was the eldest of three children with brother, James Preston Wheeler and sister, Lula Mae Smith.

Jerome Wheeler enjoyed football, basketball, playing billiards, bowling, boxing, Nascar, fishing, playing the keyboard & guitar, playing cards, working on cars, and long road trips! Jerome Wheeler was a pillar in the community. A long time resident of Trinity, North Carolina he was a warehouse associate for several companies including Rose Furniture where he retired from in 2004. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Trinity. During his time as a member of First Baptist Church he served as Chairman of the Trustee board, member of the Senior Choir, Gospel Choir, and the Men's Chorus. 

In Jerome's retirement he spent his time working part time at Vann York Auto Mall as a Parts Specialist.  He delivered parts to various auto shops, delivered cars to customers, and transported cars between dealerships. He also loved spending time talking with neighbors, taking road trips with his children, watching his grandchildren graduate from various institutions, and playing the lottery.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Sandra Wheeler; four children, Jerome Edward Wheeler Jr., (Arleatha), Anita Wheeler; Melanie Brutton, (Reginald), and Ryan Wheeler; brother, James Preston Wheeler; Uncle/Brother, Pastor Ernest McLaurin (Annie Pearl); sister, Rosa Lee Davis; six sisters-in-law, Deborah Barber (Charles), Linda Hemphil, Donna Canty (David), Kim Gordon, Lisa Wall (Larry), Mona Garner (Charles); five grandchildren, Ebony Wheeler, Shane Wheeler, Melody Wheeler, Isaiah Brutton, and Jaden Brutton; a host of other relatives and friends.

In conclusion, Jerome loved GOD, First Baptist, his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. He will always be known for his smile, his kind soul, gift of helps, and being a hard worker.

A private funeral service will be given on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Trinity, 12504 Trinity Road, Trinity, North Carolina.  The public viewing will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 to 6pm.
