Jaycee Jones “Bird Man” transitioned to his heavenly home on January 17, 2021 at High Point Medical Center. Jaycee was born on November 25, 1947 to James H. Jones and Lucille P. Jones in Gibson, North Carolina. Coming from Scotland County, he was a long time resident of High Point and was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church since 1981. He loved God and worshipped with all his heart as he served in many capacities. He was employed with Azko Noble for over forty years as a forklift driver. Jaycee was truly a people person who loved “cutting up” and will be missed by many who loved him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Claretta Tyson and Mae Frances Edwards; a brother, James A. Jones; and a grandchild.
Surviving relatives include his loving wife of twenty years, Christine W. Jones; sons, Tadarius J. Thompson, Vashon J. Thompson; stepson, Cedric Weathers and God-son, Prentiss Brockington; daughters, Carolyn Jones, Davina A. Jones (Uric Graves), Yalanda L. Jones, and Kasha B. Jones; stepdaughter, Keisha Edwards; brother, James L. Jones (Mary Ruth); sisters, Annie Pearl McLaurin (Pastor Ernest), Della Blair, Helen Moore, Christine Bracey (Charles); a host of grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Rev. Eula K. Johnson (Rev. Ronnie) other relatives and beloved friends.
A Graveside Celebration of Life will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 24th at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown. North Carolina.
