James Williamson Obituary

Mr. James McArthur Williamson departed this life on December 31, 2024, at Yanceyville Rehabilitation Center, Yanceyville, NC. He was born April 10, 1953, in Ruffin, NC, to the late James Adolphus Williamson and Annie Williamson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bessie Williamson.

Janes attended Caswell County Schools and later joined the United States Army. He returned home to civilian life and was employed in several textile mills.

James was a wonderful friend to many people, always taking the time to ask about their lives. He had a passion for dancing and was an excellent swimmer. Although he wasn't a mechanic, he had the skill to take a car apart, put it back together, and drive it away.

When his mother was living, she kept a watchful eye on him. After she passed, his sisters Josie and Annie Pearl watched over him at the nursing facility.

Left to cherish his memories: two sisters, Josie Brown (Earl) of Ruffin, NC; Annie James (Henry) of Pelham, NC; one brother, Phillip Williamson (Tonya) of Reidsville, NC; two daughters, Victoria Williamson of Greensboro, NC and Ciera Williamson of Reidsville, NC; as well as grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Special thanks to his roommate, Mr. Jesse, and his friends, Mr. Eric and other friends at the center. A special thanks to Mrs. Kelly and the other staff members who cared for James, affectionately known as Hambone.

A Celebration of Life will be given at 12 noon on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at New Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church, 8939 US Hwy158W, Ruffin, North Carolina. The family will receive visitors and friends from 11:30qm to 12 noon.
