Mr. James Oscar Floyd, 77, peacefully entered eternal rest on August 9, 2022, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital High Point Medical Center. He was born in Dillon, SC, on May 6, 1945, a son of the late Badger Floyd and Queenie Bell Arnette.
He was also preceded in death by a sister Savannah Blue, brother Jimmy Arnette Sr, nephews Darryl Blue and Mitchell Blue and a niece, Paula Blue
"Oscar" as he was affectionately known attended public schools of Lakeview, SC. In 1967 he relocated to High Point, NC where he worked for Hayworth Rolling Panels for many years before retiring.
Oscar was a loving and caring person. He was known for his warm smile and humble spirit. Oscar enjoyed shows like "In the heat of the night", "Prices Right", old westerns, baseball, and basketball games.
Loving and fond memories will be cherished by Oscar’s loved ones. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Cynthia (Robert) Davis, Jeffrey (Melinda) Blue, Leatrice (Keith) Stapleton, Felecia (Lorenzo) Harris, Pamela (Travis) Daye, Jimmy Arnette Jr., a special niece and nephew, April Bethea and Andre Bethea; a host of other relatives; special friends, James "Gent" McFadden and Sean Smith.
Funeral service will be held Monday, August 15, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at Johnson and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 206 Fourth Street, High Point, NC. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 11:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
