We celebrate the life of Mr. James Cornell Dockery Jr., 59, who was also known as “Doc”. He was a true warrior and transitioned to his final resting place on Saturday, January 16, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
James was born on November 1, 1961 to James Dockery Sr. and Katie Zimmerman Dockery in High Point, North Carolina. He was of the Baptist Faith all of his life. James was employed in a lead position with Rowe Furniture. He was dedicated to his job and grateful for his employer.
In addition to his parents James was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dean and Kate Zimmerman and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William and Minnie Dockery.
Surviving to cherish endearing memories include his wife, Kim Dockery, five children, Martina Avent, Shaun Avent, Lavoya McClain, Tashae Bennett (Jordan), and Ashton Fultz; eleven grand children; seven great grand children; two brothers, William Dockery and Corey Green; three sisters, Terry Zimmerman, Mardina Dockery and Julia Dockery; two aunts, Mrs. Gloria Christian (George) and Mrs. Maxine McRae; three uncles, Mr. Willie Tabor, Mr. Walter Dockery and Mr. Leon Dockery; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
A private Celebration of Life will be given at the Chapel of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.
