Mr. James B. Blackwell passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025. He was born on September 9, 1950, in Rockingham County to the late Junious B. Blackwell and Birdie S. Blackwell.
He attended public schools in Rockingham County and worked at Dystar Chemical Company in the shipping and receiving department. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
In his free time, he found joy in driving his vibrant red truck along scenic routes, embracing the freedom of the open road. He also enjoyed exercising regularly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Blackwell and grandson, Daquan Parker.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Blackwell; sons, Billy Parker and James Parker; grandchildren, Kimberly Roach, Kids Skyy, Haiden Martin, India Parker, Aleiah Parker, Elexus Blackwell and Donnie Deshawn Blackwell; nieces and nephews, Aubrey Withers, Sam Gwynn, J.T. Blackwell and Terry Blackwell; ten great great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward Blackwell (Alberta), Larry Blackwell (Gaynell); sisters, Patricia Ann Bushnell (Joe), Debra B. Hairston (Timothy) and a host of other relatives and friends.
