Irvin Ulysses Roach departed this life on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina, he attended the local public schools and was a retired farmer by trade. During his leisure, he enjoyed working on cars, fishing, gardening, playing checkers and bingo. A lover of desserts, he appreciated a delicious slice of sweet potato pie and peach cobbler.
Spiritually, he was a member of Wentworth Baptist Church where he faithfully served until his health declined. Irvin was free hearted, generous, kind-hearted with a sense of humor who was loved by all who knew him. We thank God for his impacting presence. His parents, Willana Carter Roach and Delgado Roach; siblings, Robert, Charlie, Howard, Othale and Nash, preceded him in death. Survivors are: devoted sisters, Annie Odella Covington and Agnes Odessa Bullitt; brother, Samuel Earl Roach; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022 from the Wentworth Baptist Church, 773 NC65 with Pastor Carlton Sturdivant presiding. The family will receive friends Friday from 12 until 12:30 p.m. at the church. In every effort to protect our client families, protective facial coverings and social distancing are mandatory requirements. Funeral arrangements are by Johnson & Sons of High Point.
