Herman Lenard Watlington exchanged life on earth for eternal rest and peace on August 26, 2024, at his residence. Herman who was known as “Lenard” was born on April 28, 1970, to the now late Herman and Mary Catherine Watlington.
Lenard graduated from Dwight Morrow High School, Englewood in NJ. After graduation he moved to North Carolina. Lenard worked as a forklift driver for Park Dale Mills in Sanford, NC for many years. Lenard had a passion for cars of and kind. If you were ever in his presence he would offer his expertise.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mary Catherine Watlington; sister, Tamekia Williamson; and his grandmother, Mamie Annie Totten Brown.
Lenard leaves to cherish loving memories, his wife of 21 years, Cassandra Watlington; two daughters, Alexaundria Smith of Durham, and Tiffany Smith of Greensboro; one son, Brian Watlington of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Kaidence Smith, Ava Watlington; two goddaughters, Briana Britton and Julia Harriel; bonus mom, Augusta Simpson; in-laws, Willie Smith (Lind) of Spring Lake, NC; one great aunt, Olivia Totten of Ruffin, NC. Lenard will be forever remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Allens Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 5630 Ridgeville Rd, Prospect Hill, North Carolina. The family will receive visitors and friends from 12:30 to 1pm. The service will begin at 1pm. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
