Mrs. Helen Patterson Rice, 98, transitioned to her heavenly reward on Friday, October 2, 2020 at The Shannon Gray Rehabilitation And Recovery Center in Jamestown, North Carolina.
Helen was born on June 25, 1922 to Dan and Emma Jane Patterson in Laurinburg, North Carolina in the township of Hasty. She was the third eldest of ten siblings; eight sisters and two brothers.
At her age, of course she was a wealth of knowledge and found great joy is sharing her wisdom with all her family and friends. She surrounded herself with those she loved and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. She loved God and the Church and served proudly beside her husband as he ministered.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by all of her siblings; her husband, Reverend Willie Lee Rice; two daughters, Delores Rice Johnson and Diane Rice Wiggins.
She leaves to cherish loving memories three granddaughters whom she raised as her own, Denika Rice, Kataba Wiggins and Katicia Wiggins Hudson (Travis); grandson, James Wiggins (Michelle), and Linda Wiggins; great grandchildren, Kenny Johnson, Rasheed Bennett, Katja Smith, Ebony Quick, and Jamaica Rice; other grand and great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A private Homegoing Service will be given on Friday, October 8, 2020 at the Chapel of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, 206 Fourth Street, High Point.
