Gregory Scott Pemberton

Mr. Gregory Scott Pemberton courageously fought the good fight and faithfully finished his journey, entering into his heavenly home on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in High Point, North Carolina. After a life marked by strength and perseverance, God lovingly placed His arms around him and whispered, “Come with Me,” granting him eternal rest and peace.

Gregory Scott Pemberton was born on March 18, 1962, in Montgomery County, North Carolina, to the late George and Jennie Mae Smith Pemberton. He was the youngest of twelve children. Greg attended Central High School in High Point, North Carolina, and dedicated much of his career to the manufacturing industry. Known for being strong-willed and a man of few words, Greg possessed a quiet determination, resilience, and a spirit full of life.

In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by four brothers, George William Pemberton Jr., Carneill Pemberton, Frankie James Pemberton, and Billy Ray Pemberton; and two sisters, Rosie Mae McCray and Mattie Lou Ingram.

He leaves to cherish his memory four beloved children: Gary Lamont Pemberton of Windsor, North Carolina; Anita Neshia Pemberton of High Point, North Carolina; Dr. Gregory “Ashton” Pemberton of High Point, North Carolina; and Keegan Scott Pemberton of High Point, North Carolina. He is also lovingly remembered by his three grandchildren, Keegin Pemberton, Gary Jr. Pemberton, and Chance Pemberton; two great-grandchildren, Kwah'lwn Southerland and Elaina Southerland; four sisters, Pastor Lizzie Jackson of Rockingham, North Carolina, Arletha (Dennis) Portee of High Point, North Carolina, Gracie (Kenneth) Myers of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Brenda Pemberton of Greensboro, North Carolina; and one brother, Walter Pemberton of High Point, North Carolina. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will deeply miss his presence.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Guil-Rand Memorial Park Cemetery, 1550 NC-62, High Point, NC 27263. There will be no public viewing.
