Gladys Jones Bracken

Mrs. Gladys Jones Bracken passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024. 

Gladys was born in Reidsville, NC on December 2, 1937, to Charles Frank and Lillie Nunley Jones. She attended Reidsville City Schools and retired from VF Corporation in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Mrs. Bracken was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church before her health declined. She enjoyed cooking for others and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lillie Jones, and her son, James Bracken Jr. 

She leaves to cherish loving memories, her children, Phyllis Bracken Wells (William–deceased), Marian Bracken Lawson, Rev. Dr. David Bracken (Jackie), and Melissa Bracken Howie (Solomon); her grandchildren, Lee Lawson (Dominque), Jordan Comer, Charysse Jones, and Paul Totten; great-grandchildren, Aurora Baker, and Titus Jones; special friends, Johanna Mills, Charlene Woodson, Clarinda Kellam, Odella Watkins and Addie Hargrove, a host of other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be given on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1570 N. Long St., Salisbury, North Carolina.  The family will receive visitors and friends at the church from 11 to 11:30am.  The service will begin at 11:30am.  The burial will take place at 10am on Friday at Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, North Carolina.
