Mr. George William Christian, 74 was born on September 27, 1947, in Mount Gilead, North Carolina to the now late Benjamin and Annie Little Christian. George passed away peacefully on Monday, January 3, 2022.
George attended the public schools in Montgomery County and later resided in High Point for sixty years. He worked at Custom Processing Manufacturing and Greensboro Metal Parts as a welder. George was a member of Temple Memorial Baptist Church and attended until his health began to fail in 2005.
In addition to his parents George was preceded in death by three siblings, Virginia, Benjamin and JoAnn; two grandchildren, JaCora and Johnathan and an aunt and uncle that raised him, Henry and Lilly Little.
George leaves to cherish precious memories his wife, Gloria Zimmerman Christian; children, Terry Zimmerman, Tanika Christian, Cassandra Christian-Taylor, and Gretchen Christian-Southerland all of High Point, NC; five grandchildren, Marcus, Anthony, Rachel, Jerome and Kevin; twenty great-grandchildren; one sister, Lilly McDonald (Walter); special niece and nephew; Keshia and Marvin (Peedee) Miller. A host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including his best friends, Ronnie, June and Skeet all of High Point.
A Homegoing Celebration will take place at 1:30pm on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Chapel of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, 206 Fourth Street, High Point. Burial will follow at GuilRand Memorial Park. Public viewing at the funeral will be at the funeral home from 1 to 7 pm on Friday.
