Geneva McArthur Cole was born on August 26, 1930, in Rowland, NC to Suzie Alford and Neil McArthur. She was one of 14 siblings, nine girls, and five boys, all of whom are deceased, but their legacy lives on through their surviving families. Geneva was a devout Christian, a member, and usher of 65 years at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in High Point, NC.
Geneva worked as a Domestic Worker until she retired at the age of 65-years-old. She was a loving mother/grandmother/sister/aunt, and niece, with a heart of gold, who always kept a smile upon her face. She was loved by many and called "grandma" by all.
Geneva is survived by her daughter, Jeanette McArthur, and granddaughter Juakina Cole, both of Duluth, GA; a deceased son, Johnny McArthur of High Point, NC, who is survived by his wife, Frances Morgan McArthur and their children Tracy and Chris McArthur both of High Point, NC, along with a host of great-grandchildren, most notable Kayia Shaw of High Point, NC. She also will be dearly remembered by her honorary granddaughter, Reneta Pleasant of High Point, NC.
The Lord sought fit to bless us with Geneva for 90 years of life. While she will be deeply missed, her legacy will continue to live on through her family and the lives of all she knew and encountered.
A private Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Chapel of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, 206 Fourth Street. Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown. The public viewing will be on Sunday from 12 to 6pm.
