High Point
Mr. Freddie Lee Steele, 86, transitioned to his heavenly home on Tuesday at High Point Regional Hospital. Freddie was born on September 14, 1931 to Clinnie and Sallie Beth Steele in Iredell County, North Carolina.
Mr. Steele had been a resident of High Point for over sixty years. He was a member of First Emmanuel Baptist Church where he was a honorary trustee. Fraternally he was a member of Toussaint L'overture #524, Shriner member Abdallah Temple #189 A.E.A.O.N.M.S. He proudly served his country as a member of the U. S. Army.
Mr. Steele was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Pandora Walker Steele, daughter, Sharon Walker; and three brothers.
Surviving relatives include a son, Christopher Steele of Thomasville; two brothers, Joe Louis Steele and Claude Lee Steele; three grandchildren, Kim Glover (Fred), Crystal McDowell, and Antoine Nurse; a host of great and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at First Emmanuel Baptist Church, 833 Leonard Avenue. Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown. The family will receive visitors and friends at the church on Thursday from 12:30 to 1:00 preceding the service.
