Frances Elizabeth Gainey, 84, passed away on Sunday, February 17th at her home. Frances was born on December 30, 1934 in Hickory, NC. to Pink H. Davis and Donnie Derr Davis. Coming from Catawba County she spent most of her adult life in High Point. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Gainey, Sr.; sister, Orlando Johnson; brothers, Charles Davis, Richard Davis, and James A. Davis; grandson, Brandon Gainey; stepdaughter, Margaret Rogers; and son-in-law, Ronald F. Morton.
Surviving relatives include sons, James H. Gainey, Jr. (Fiance' , Diane Talley) and Jessie Lee Gainey, Sr. (Rose); daughters, Shelba G. Morton, Anna Marie Gainey, Linda Diane Horne (Mark), Barbara Gainey, and Delores G. Harp (Grady); fourteen grandchildren, Jessie (Nicole), Latisha (Prentices), Naykemma, Aaron, Jessica, Jaquana, Angie, Cedric, Megan, Shonda, Dionne, Ashley-Dee, Brooke, and Grady, Jr.; and twenty-three great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Service In Loving Memory will be 11:30 am, Friday, February 22nd at the Chapel of Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, 206 Fourth St. Family visitation will be 11 to 11:30 at the chapel on Friday and at her residence, 602 B Saunders Place, from 4 to 7pm on Thursday.
