Eva Mae (Baty) Yarbrough

Mrs. Eva Mae Yarbrough, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, peacefully entered eternal rest on June 30, 2026, just a few weeks shy of her 102nd birthday,.

Born on August 3, 1924, Eva Mae was the daughter of Perry Baty, Sr. and Willie Mae Thomas. She accepted Christ at an early age and throughout her remarkable 101 years, she witnessed tremendous change and progress while remaining grounded in the values of family, faith, perseverance, and love. Her life's journey carried her through Mexia, Texas; Houston, Texas; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and finally High Point, North Carolina where she spent her later years and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Frank Thomas.

Eva Mae was known for her strength, wisdom, grace, and unwavering devotion to her son Milton. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience and kindness that will continue to inspire future generations. Her warm spirit, gentle smile, and heartfelt guidance touched the lives of many and will be remembered always.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry Baty, Sr. and Willie Mae Thomas; her brothers, Perry Baty, Jr., Willie James Baty, and Elton Baty; and her sister, Dorothy Lee Baty.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her devoted son, Milton Baty; her granddaughters, Floraine Nichols and Nicole Mallett; her nephew, Marcus Baty; her niece, Paula Roberts; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.

Eva Mae was blessed to witness over a century of life's joys, challenges, and milestones. Through every season, she remained a source of strength, wisdom, and love for her family and all who knew her.

Though she has departed this earthly life, the love she shared and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A Homegoing Service celebrating the life of Eva Yarbrough will be given on Saturday, July 11, 2026 ay Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 753 Washington Drive, High Point.  The family will receive visitors and friends from 10:30am to 11am at the church and the service will begin at 11am.
