Esther Mae Cole Baldwin, 81, transitioned home on Monday, July 22, 2019 at High Point Medical Center. Esther was born on January 9, 1938 to Ernest Cole and Beulah Lindsay Cole in Guilford County and was a graduate of William Penn high School.
Mrs. Baldwin was a faithful member of Zion Hill United Methodist Church where she served as the pianist for many years, and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She loved and trusted in the Lord and instilled the same in her family. She worked for over 25 years for several schools throughout High Point and retired from Guilford County Schools as manager of food services.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 49 years, Joseph C. Baldwin.
Surviving relatives include her devoted children, a daughter, Ada Lavern Baldwin; two sons, Norris Baldwin (Marilyn), and Rodney Baldwin (Janice); grandchildren, Rachel L. Davidson, Arica N. Davidson, and Cole Jordan Baldwin; a host of cousins, other relatives and treasured friends.
A Homegoing service will be given at 12:30pm, Monday, July 29, 2019 at Zion Hill United Methodist Church, 2901 Sandy Ridge Rd., Colfax, North Carolina. The family will receive visitors and friends from 11:30 to 12:30p.m. at the church on Monday. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery, Greensboro.
